Brown must know that U.S. commercial and saltwater recreational fisheries support almost two million jobs and generate more than $160 billion in sales. Let us not hear the cry from Boston to Concord be "the drillers are coming, the drillers are coming."
Remember the Maine, I mean, the Gulf of Mexico catastrophe where we all saw the awful, devastating effects of the BP drilling disaster. The Gulf Coast is still being hampered by the spill. The coastal marsh grasses are dying, 134 bottlenose dolphins were found dead between January and March, and fishermen have begun hauling in sick fish like Red Snapper and Golden Tilefish. The fish have dark discolorations, lesions, tumor bulges, and fin rot. Holy cod and cuttlefish give our oceans and shores a chance!

Dear Senator Brown,
You campaigned for the "people's seat, not big oil's seat. In Massachusetts we care about our precious coast and fisheries and want them protected for ouselves, our children and grandchildren. Get it right, protect our most precious natural resource and get off big oil's bandwagon.
Sincerely,
Mary Kay Roper
