I am amazed this kind of thermal pollutiuon still exists. Way back in the 80's. a waste to energy plant in Lawrence MA on the Spicket River was discharging hot water.

In the middle of winter, frogs were swimming around, and turtles were climbing fences on their migrations, only to become frozen by the cold air. The water was around 90F !!

I alerted DEP, thus starting my river watcher role. DEP did their job and forced the plant to get their cooling tower on line.

We still need to be vigilant and aware of our surroundings.
