Incinerators do not produce clean energy and contribute to major health problems to citizens living near them and near the downstream wind channels. The waste and pollution also ends up distributed in air and through rain to waterways through incomplete combustion which takes place regularly even in the most efficient incinerators and due to the many cancer causing lung pollutants that are not destroyed by intense heat. Incinerators are not a solution to dispose of waste in a way that preserves the environment and would threaten the natural beauty of RI for its citizens and the livelihoods of those that depend on the thriving tourist industries of RI and the Real Estate industries that tout the benefits of living and working in RI.
