Since its Premiere at The Washington Environmental Film Festival on March 28th Carbon Nation has had over 70 screenings and is headed for a major NYC screening on January 14, 2011. This film offers a glimpse to solutions rather than focusing on the problem. But don’t just take my word for it. Steve Katona, Director of Ocean Health for Conservation International, just wrote after viewing the film:

The country has evidently arrived at a point in its legal culture where no negative consequences seem to exist for making false or misleading claims to sell wind energy—the stuff dreams are made of. But industrial wind is a bunco scheme of enormous consequence. And people who value intellectual honesty should not quietly be fleeced by such mendacity, even from their government
We need to look at the bunco scheme going on with these commercial wind turbines ! Has the legislature been fooled by one of the largest games of Three Card Monte in the world ?
Here is how it works : You the electric ratepayer right now and has been for the last ten years been paying a renewable energy tax on your electric bill . The money goes into a multi-million dollar renewable energy fund . A wind trubine contractors comes along and builds one or many wind turbines . The renewable energy fund run by a group of six figure hacks gives the contractor millions of your dollars from that fund ! Next they construct the wind turbine ,charge you more money on your basic electric rate which also increases the renewable energy tax on your bill – AKA – They are taking you to the cleaners and they know it !
