The CLF Team

N. Jonathan Peress recently joined CLF as Vice President and Director of Clean Energy and Climate Change. He previously was a partner at Downs Rachlin Martin’s Environmental Practice Group in New Hampshire. He practices environmental and regulatory law and has worked extensively on matters involving electric generation and utility regulation throughout the Northeast. He began his career at the State of Vermont Agency of Natural Resources where he authored the state regulations implementing the Clean Air Act.

Jonathan has frequently written about climate change and greenhouse gas regulatory matters and was recently appointed Chair of the American Bar Association Air Quality Committee for 2010/11. He earned his law degree from Brooklyn Law School in 1993 and is admitted to practice in Vermont, New Hampshire and New York.
