Senior Attorney

Sandy Levine is a Senior Attorney. Her work focuses on climate change, clean energy, land use, transportation and natural resource protection. Prior to joining CLF, Sandy practiced privately, taught at Vermont Law School, worked for the Vermont Prisoner’s Rights Office and for the Vermont Department of Public Service and served as a law clerk at the Vermont Supreme Court. She earned her BA at the University of Vermont and JD at Suffolk University Law School. Sandy’s admissions include: State of Vermont, Federal District Court for the District of Vermont, and the Second Circuit Court of Appeals. At CLF, Sandy’s advocacy has included litigation to halt construction of the Circ Highway outside Burlington, Vermont – an outdated, expensive and polluting highway project and replace it with increased transit and lower cost and more effective upgrades of existing roads, and litigation to close Vermont Yankee, a tired old nuclear power facility in Southern Vermont, and more than doubling energy efficiency efforts that allowed Vermont to avoid relying on more costly and polluting power plants.
