How strong is the clean energy bill for Massachusetts? CLF discusses the in a recent teleconference above. Click to watch the video or listen to an audio recording.

The clean energy bill is almost over the finish line in Massachusetts  – but we need your help to ensure that it’s as strong as it can be.

Contact your representative today. Thank them for their leadership and ask them to make this important legislation stronger by supporting a final bill that includes:

  • Provisions to procure 2,000 megawatts of offshore wind, which will not only lower the costs for wind energy but also help to grow a burgeoning new industry in our state;
  • Onshore wind in addition to offshore wind, to ensure that Massachusetts doesn’t become over-reliant on foreign hydropower;
  • An increase in the Renewable Portfolio Standard to 2%, which will help increase the amount of clean, renewable energy available to power our homes;
  • A ban on charging Massachusetts families and businesses for new – and unnecessary – natural gas pipelines (the so-called “pipeline tax”).

With only one week left for the Legislature to finalize and vote on this critical bill, there’s no time to waste – we need to take action now. Find your representative’s contact information here, then email or call them today.

With your help, Massachusetts can lead the way to a safer and healthier future for all.
