Massachusetts Releases Omnibus Clean Energy Bill

Bill lays blueprint for meeting future climate goals

February 12, 2018 (BOSTON, MA) – Conservation Law Foundation (CLF) released the following statement today in response to the Senate Committee on Global Warming and Climate Change’s announcement of their omnibus energy bill, An Act to Promote a Clean Energy Future. The omnibus features numerous bills, including CLF’s Global Warming Implementation Act.

“This ambitious bill is a bold statement of our need to fight for the health and safety of our communities,” said David Ismay, Senior Attorney at CLF. “Climate change is already affecting families and businesses across our state, and these comprehensive solutions will help us reach our 2050 climate goals and beyond. The future of Massachusetts is clean energy that is affordable and accessible to everyone. This omnibus bill gives us the opportunity to simultaneously reduce our emissions, bring good jobs to the region, and invigorate our neighborhoods.”

CLF Senior Attorney David Ismay spoke at the press conference for the bill about Massachusetts’ greenhouse gas emissions and meeting our state’s Global Warming Solution Act mandates.

A summary and copy of the bill is available here.
