July 5, 2018 (BOSTON) – Conservation Law Foundation (CLF) released the following statement today in response to Scott Pruitt’s resignation as administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency.

“Don’t be fooled by the devil on his way out the door because there’s another one waiting in the wings,” said CLF President Bradley Campbell. “There is no doubt that the next EPA administrator will be another Scott Pruitt—in bed with the fossil fuel industry and rolling back environmental protections with a vengeance.”

“Now is not the time to revel but to re-energize local advocacy that protects communities, public health, and our environment. Our first defense is to continue to fight irresponsible rollbacks at the national level while strengthening local laws and policies here at home. New England can and must lead on environmental progress in face of this broken federal administration.”

CLF experts are available for further comment.
