As the federal government not only fails to tackle the global climate crisis, but actually obstructs progress to reduce the pollution that’s causing it, one bright spot has emerged: Local communities are stepping in to fill the growing federal climate gap. Climate Mayors is a bi-partisan network of U.S. mayors working to lead local action… Continue reading New Hampshire Forges Ahead with Local Climate Action
By many measures, our climate outlook here in the United States is grim. Our president denies the settled science of climate change. Our natural monuments are being pillaged for oil and gas. And a coal lobbyist now heads the Environmental Protection Agency, the federal entity charged with protecting our health, not endangering it. Despite these… Continue reading New England Speaks Up at the Global Climate Action Summit

President Trump’s withdrawal from the Paris Climate Accord has put the United States on the wrong side of history. With renewed urgency, CLF is escalating our work to develop legally binding climate laws, like the one we helped create and enforce here in Massachusetts, in every New England state.
“This is another shot across the bow in the Trump Administration’s crusade to unravel President Obama’s environmental legacy, and once again, our economy and our communities are the ultimate casualties,” said Greg Cunningham, Director of CLF’s Clean Energy and Climate Change program. “For an administration where ‘clean’ is a dirty word, repealing this critical plan is as unsurprising as it is outrageous. Once again, this president is on the wrong side of history.”
