Alex is a senior attorney with the Strategic Litigation team. Prior to joining CLF, Alex was a senior staff attorney on the economic justice team at the Southern Poverty Law Center in Montgomery, Alabama, where she litigated federal civil rights class actions challenging debtor prisons, money bail, privatized probation, and financial bias in the criminal justice system. Alex also clerked for the honorable Catharine F. Easterly on the D.C. Court of Appeals.
Alex received her J.D., magna cum laude, from Harvard Law School, and her undergraduate degrees in geology and political science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Alex is admitted to practice in Alabama and California, as well as the United States Courts of Appeal for the Sixth and Eleventh Circuits and the United States District Courts for the Northern District of Alabama, Middle District of Alabama, and Eastern District of Wisconsin.
