January 3, 2023 (BOSTON, MA) – Vineyard Wind has announced that electricity from the company’s offshore wind project is flowing into Massachusetts for the first time. Conservation Law Foundation (CLF) released the following statement in response.

“This is a historic moment that’s been years in the making,” said CLF President Bradley Campbell. “It’s proof positive that New England’s transition away from polluting fossil fuels and towards clean, renewable energy is underway in earnest. We must now quadruple the rate of clean energy deployment, and New England is where it can be done responsibly.”

CLF has been advocating for new clean energy projects like offshore wind for years. We’ve been at the table to ensure these projects are built responsibly and limit harm to marine life. Most importantly, project ships need to slow down to protect critically endangered North Atlantic right whales.

CLF experts are available for further comment.
