October 17, 2018 (BOSTON) – Conservation Law Foundation (CLF) released the following statement today after the city unveiled its “Climate Ready South Boston” report.

“Planning for open space and climate resilience is important, but planning without concrete action isn’t enough,” said Deanna Moran, Director of Environmental Planning at CLF. “Boston’s leadership in developing climate strategies must move from plans to specific projects that protect the City’s waterfront neighborhoods, our economy and future generations from rising seas and extreme weather. The recent UN climate change report makes it clear that we cannot keep creating plans without meaningful action on the ground. CLF looks forward to working with the mayor, businesses and the public to turn these plans into reality.”

CLF experts are available for further comment.
