June 14, 2018 (BOSTON) – Conservation Law Foundation (CLF) released the following statement today in support of environmental legislation passed in the Massachusetts Senate. The bill, S.2545, strengthens the Global Warming Solutions Act, guards against shifting costs to already overburdened communities, and expands renewable energy in Massachusetts.

“Massachusetts cannot afford to wait to respond to climate issues, and our senators clearly understand that urgency,” said David Ismay, Senior Staff Attorney at CLF. “This legislation is an important step forward in combatting climate change, growing real local jobs, and making Massachusetts a healthier place to live. It works to ensure that we will meet our 2050 climate mandate by setting a reasonable timeline with milestones along the way, while adding protection for vulnerable communities and our workforce. We urge the House to follow the Senate’s lead and pass this legislation.”
