August 21, 2018 (BOSTON) – Conservation Law Foundation (CLF) released the following statement today in response to the Environmental Protection Agency’s proposed rollback of the Obama-era Clean Power Plan in favor of increased carbon emissions and decreased public health.

“By rolling back the Clean Power Plan, the Trump administration is once again ignoring science and turning its back on the American people,” said Greg Cunningham, Vice President and Director of CLF’s Clean Energy and Climate Change program. “Increased carbon emissions threaten our lives, our economy, and our environment. It is our government’s legal responsibility to reduce the public health menace that is carbon pollution. Now states must step up and stop this administration’s attempt to turn back time on clean energy progress.”

Conservation Law Foundation is pushing for the passage of strong climate laws and mandatory emissions reductions in every New England state. You can read more about the New England for Paris effort here.

CLF experts are available to discuss the impact Trump’s latest proposal will have on New England.
