It’s not too late for Gov. Charlie Baker’s legacy to include giving Boston and the region a western gateway equal to its aspirations as a leader in urban design, transportation vision, and environmental planning. Indeed, the law requires officials to consider each alternative along with mitigation plans before selecting a preferred design – an approach we should embrace instead of rushing to anchor the city — in cement — to its past mistakes.
