February 13, 2026 (Boston, MA) – Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey has released a report card intended to show the state’s progress on meeting climate goals and mandates. According to the report, “The federal administration’s targeted dismantling of state authority to regulate emissions, revocation of $3.7 billion …, and efforts to stop progress on renewable energy and environmental justice have forced the Commonwealth to find new pathways forward.” Conservation Law Foundation (CLF) released the following statement in response.

“The state’s climate report card underscores both the urgency and the opportunity ahead,” said Caitlin Peale Sloan, vice president for climate and energy at Conservation Law Foundation. “While federal headwinds have slowed progress, the stakes remain clear: meeting our climate goals means healthier air, more affordable clean energy powering our homes and businesses, and stronger, more resilient communities in the face of extreme heat and worsening storms. We need to buckle down and focus on what we can move forward now to protect public health and keep our communities safe.”
